Here on the border of Wales, in Weobley, one of the most picturesque of Herefordshire`s black & white villages, Julian and Juliet welcome visitors and old friends to Jules to enjoy food, wine & hospitality in a distinctive, relaxed & friendly atmosphere.

Julian and Juliet established Jules Restaurant in 1985 and have been welcoming customers now for thirty seven years and counting.

“In that time we have learned how important it is to create a warm, friendly atmosphere for everyone to enjoy and to provide interesting and consistently good food using, wherever possible, the finest locally sourced ingredients and serving it up in our own individual style.
So how would we describe our style of food?
Fine country cooking would probably best sum it up; a fusion of classic flavours & modern style, always served up in generous amounts.”
Tom has been in charge of the kitchen for the last eight years, always working in the fast lane, juggling the orders & working with great skill usually singlehanded -at the stove tops every session. He is a brilliant innovator and devotes much time & energy into researching and developing new dishes for the menus.
Jules takes much more of a back seat these days- at the grand age of 84! But he still enjoys keeping the kitchen supplied with a constant flow of soups, pates, terrines & casseroles, painstakingly prepared and flavoured with the accuracy which has always characterised his signature dishes.
Juliet is front of house and doubles as pastry chef and, as you will discover when you visit us, puddings are important!

our produce
We are lucky enough to be surrounded by many of the county`s finest food producers which is why we are able to offer on our menus such a good range of locally sourced dishes.
We’re always happy to discuss the provenance of all our ingredients and point our customers in the right direction if they want to sample some of this
wonderful produce for themselves.
foraging
To add an extra seasonal dimension to our menus we enjoy a spot of foraging from time to time. Living in Weobley in the depth of the Herefordshire countryside, the hedgerows and fields provide a larder of seasonal goodies.
In the early Spring we bring in wild garlic for pesto & sauces, wild mint, young nettles for butter, wild watercress and horseradish. In May we plunder the hedges for the creamy elderflower heads for cordial, usually getting well stung by nettles in the process.
Field mushrooms flavour soups & casseroles and in September the blackberries make pies & damsons and sloes are bottled to make gin and vodka for Christmas drinking if we can wait that long!
